Solar & Battery Packages in Darwin.
Designing solar and storage together produces a better result than bolting a battery onto a system that was never sized for one. If you are starting from scratch, this is the way to do it — and both rebates apply.

Why Designing Them Together Is Better
A solar system sized without a battery in mind is sized to roughly match your daytime usage. Add a battery later and you often find the array cannot produce enough surplus to fill it, so the battery sits half empty and you paid for capacity you cannot use.
Designed together, the array is sized to cover your daytime load and fill the storage, and the storage is sized to carry you through the evening. It is one system doing one job rather than two products sharing a roof.
What a Package Gets You
Beyond the sum of the parts.
A System That Balances
Panels sized to cover the day and fill the battery. Storage sized to carry the evening. Neither component waiting on the other.
One Install, One Commissioning
Rather than a second visit later that means opening the switchboard again, re-testing and re-applying for connection.
Backup Designed In
Deciding which circuits stay live in a blackout is far simpler at design stage than retrofitting it afterwards.
Who Packages Suit
Where doing it all at once is the right call.
Starting from scratch
No existing solar, and you want the whole thing sorted in one go.
- Sized as one system
- Both rebates applied
- One install and commissioning
- Cleanest result
New builds
Far cheaper to design in than retrofit, and the switchboard is being sized anyway.
- Roughed in during construction
- Board sized for the finished house
- Coordinated with the builder
- Conduit and cable runs planned
High evening usage
Households running air conditioning into the night get the most out of storage.

- Shift work or work-from-home
- Pool pumps and larger loads
Blackout protection
If riding out wet season outages matters, design it in from the start.

The Whole Energy Picture
Solar, storage, air conditioning and the switchboard are one system whether you treat them that way or not. Flynn’s does all of it under one licence, so we can tell you where your money actually makes the most difference — which is sometimes a smaller solar system and a better air conditioner rather than more panels.

Guides from our team on this kind of work.
After extensive research and a number of quotes from different installers, these guys stood out. They were the most thorough when it came to preparing a quote, asking lots of questions and doing a detailed inspection of our property. I was left with no doubt about which system best suited our needs and why. If you want a genuine team of experts who take a measured and detailed approach to both system specification and installation, I can’t recommend Shane Frew and the rest of the Flynn’s Team enough.— Sandra Y.
When I first applied online I received a call within 5 minutes! Incredibly professional and competitive prices. Will definitely be using Flynn’s again.— Kristian H.
Great communication, great work, fair prices. They told us they do domestic electrical work so we’ll definitely be contacting them for future works. Highly recommended.— Alexander G.
Frequently asked questions.
What people ask about solar and battery packages.
Is a package cheaper than doing it separately?
Usually, because there is one install, one commissioning and one grid connection application rather than two. The bigger advantage is that the system is designed as a whole, so the array is actually sized to fill the battery.
Can I do solar now and battery later?
Yes, and plenty of people do. Just tell us at design stage so we size the array with the future battery in mind — that is the difference between an easy retrofit later and a system that cannot fill the storage you add.
How much does a package cost?
It depends on system size, roof type, switchboard condition and whether you want blackout backup. We do not publish prices because rebate levels move and a stale figure helps nobody. We come out, look at it properly and quote.
Do both rebates apply?
Yes — the STC rebate on the solar and the federal battery rebate on the storage, both applied as a discount at quote stage. Just be careful comparing quotes: the battery rebate covers roughly forty per cent of the installed stack, not eighty.
Will it run my whole house in a blackout?
Usually not the whole house, and you would not want to pay for that. We nominate essential circuits with you — typically the fridge, lights and a split system — which covers the practical need at a sensible cost.
How long does the install take?
A full solar and battery package is generally a couple of days with a crew of three, depending on the size of the array and the switchboard work involved. We will confirm before the day.
