Flynn’s is a Darwin family business — Shane Frew and a small crew doing electrical, air conditioning and solar across Darwin, Palmerston and the rural NT. We hold every licence the work needs, and we would rather tell you something can wait than sell you a job you do not need yet.
What we hold
The Job That Says the Most About Us
A customer needed an air conditioning system replaced. They had braced themselves for about fifteen thousand dollars, because that is what they had been told to expect. The job came in at five.
We could have charged them what they were expecting and they would never have known. We charged them what it cost. Since then we have done every fan and every light in that house, powered their pool, and run sub-mains to the shed. That one decision has been worth many times the difference.

Why the Three Trades Matter
Air conditioning needs a circuit. Solar needs switchboard capacity. An EV charger needs both. When those are three different contractors, the gaps between them are where the delays and the finger-pointing live. Holding all three licences means we can look at the whole house and tell you the order to do things in — which is sometimes not the order that suits us.

Are you actually licensed?
Yes, and all three matter. NT Electrical Contractor #C4605, ARCtick refrigerant handling #AU065122, and Solar Accreditation Australia #S5228517. We are also a Fujitsu Authorised Service Partner. Every job is tested and certified.
Are you a local business or a franchise?
Local, and independent. We are based in the Darwin rural area and the whole crew lives here. There is no head office in another state deciding what we charge or how long we spend on your job.
How big is the team?
Small and local. Shane on the tools and quoting, Rachael in the office, Anthony and Stergos on air conditioning, Trent on electrical, and Chloe coming through as an apprentice. Big enough to turn up when we say we will, small enough that you get the same faces.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes — offices, shops, clinics, workshops and multi-site facilities, for both electrical and air conditioning. Scheduled maintenance programs as well as one-off work.
How far out do you go?
Darwin, Palmerston and the rural NT — Howard Springs, Humpty Doo, Coolalinga, Berry Springs, Virginia, Noonamah and further out. Tell us where you are and we will be straight about whether we can get there.
What makes you different from the cheapest quote?
Nothing, if the cheapest quote is right. We are not the cheapest and we do not try to be. What you get is licensed trades who size things properly, tell you when work can wait, and are still here to service it in five years.
