Air Conditioner Repairs in Darwin.
Not cooling, leaking water, tripping the power or making a noise it did not make last year. We find the actual cause, tell you what it costs to fix, and tell you honestly when a unit is not worth fixing.

The Repair or Replace Conversation
There is a point where money spent on an old system stops being a repair and starts being a subscription. A compressor or control board on a ten-year-old unit is a real fraction of a new system, with no warranty and no efficiency gain at the end of it.
We will give you the actual numbers — what the repair costs, what a replacement costs, and what the running-cost difference looks like over the eight months a year it runs up here. Then you decide, not us.
How a Repair Works
Three things that make the difference.
Diagnose, Not Guess
Swapping parts until something works is expensive and slow. We test properly and find the actual cause before quoting anything.
One Licence Covers Both Sides
A lot of air conditioning faults are electrical rather than refrigeration. Holding both licences means no second trade to arrange and no finger pointing.
Straight Answer at the End
If it is worth fixing, we fix it. If it is not, we say so rather than taking your money for a repair that buys you one more season.
Common Air Conditioner Faults
What we get called out to most, and what usually causes it.
Not cooling properly
The most common call. Usually airflow, a dirty coil, or refrigerant — and often it is just years of no servicing.
- Runs all day, room stays warm
- Weak airflow from the indoor unit
- Struggles in the afternoon heat
- Coil, filter or refrigerant issues
Leaking water
Almost always a blocked drain, a filthy indoor coil, or a drain with no fall. It causes real damage if it is left.
- Water dripping from the indoor unit
- Wet wall, floor or ceiling below
- Spitting water when running
- Mould smell around the unit
Tripping the power
An electrical fault, not a cooling one. Stop using the system and have it looked at before it is reset again.
- Trips the breaker on start-up
- Trips the safety switch during operation
- Outdoor unit or compressor faults
- Tested by licensed electrical trades
Noise and intermittent faults
Rattles, grinding and things that work when they feel like it usually mean worn parts or a unit near the end.
- Rattling, buzzing or grinding
- Fan not running correctly
- Remote or control problems
- Cuts out after running a while

Symptoms, when it started, and the model number if you can get it. It tells us what to bring.
We Diagnose On Site
Tested properly rather than guessed at, with the electrical and refrigeration side both covered.
We Explain the Options
What is wrong, what it costs, and whether it is worth doing on a unit that age.
We Repair It
Fixed on the same visit where we can. Anything needing parts gets a clear timeframe.
Most Repairs Were Preventable
A large share of what we get called out to comes back to a system that has not been serviced in years. Air conditioners up here should be serviced at least every two years and ideally annually — not left for five. Regular servicing costs a fraction of the repairs it prevents.

Frequently asked questions.
What people ask when something has gone wrong.
Do you repair all brands?
Yes. We are a Fujitsu Authorised Service Partner, which gives better parts access on Fujitsu, and we repair all the other major brands. Have the make and model handy when we ring and we will bring the right gear.
Should I repair or replace it?
It comes down to the age of the unit, the cost of the repair and what a new system would save in running cost. If a repair is a large fraction of a replacement on a unit approaching ten years, replacing usually wins. We will give you both numbers rather than steering you.
My air conditioner is not cooling. What is it?
Most often airflow or a dirty coil, sometimes refrigerant, sometimes a failing component. In Darwin it is very frequently a system that has not been cleaned in years. We diagnose it rather than guessing.
It is leaking water inside. Is that serious?
It causes damage quickly, so do not leave it. Usually a blocked drain or a coil dirty enough that the condensate cannot run off properly. Turn it off and book it in.
It keeps tripping the power. Can I keep resetting it?
No. That is an electrical fault and repeatedly resetting it does not fix anything. Stop using the system and have it tested — we hold the electrical licence as well, so it is one visit.
Do you charge to come out?
Yes, there is an attendance fee and we confirm it on the phone beforehand. Quotes for any follow-on work are free.
